Today in class we worked on pages 1-2 in the packet attached below. We will be working on the packet the next few days.
Today in class we reviewed the expectations for our school and classroom, focusing on kindness. The school-wide matrix is attached below. We played a game with the problems on the powerpoint to review for our quiz tomorrow. For the quiz students need to be able to solve problems involving negative exponents, multiplying with exponents, numbers to the 0 power, determine whether something is a function or not, and drawing graphs for given situations as well as writing a story for a given graph.
We took notes on exponents and worked on the worksheet below about graphing stories and writing stories to match graphs. If it was not finished in class it was assigned as homework.
We too a panorama survey required by the school. Then we practiced graphing stories by watching some of the videos at www.graphingstories.com/. Lastly, we drew and turned in a graph for a story about a boy biking. If you were absent, see Mrs. Volke for details.
We went through the powerpoint together as a class, but there are lots of examples of functions and non-functions. The worksheet we given in class with 30 minutes to work. Anything not finished is homework due Tuesday, 3/26.
Today we talked about functions, inputs, and outputs. We did the worksheet below and put a few notes in our journal.
