We practiced finding the volume of spheres and then did a mixed practice worksheet to remember when to use each formula.
The two worksheets we did to practice finding the volume of cones are attached below. They are due by the beginning of the period on Tuesday, 4/30.
The worksheet below is due Wednesday 4/24 at the beginning of class. It was handed out in class on Monday and given again on Tuesday for students who said they needed it.
We explored the meaning of volume by building rectangular prisms with blocks and finding their volume, remembering that volume is the area of the base layer multiplied by the height. We then used this idea and applied it to cylinders to find their areas.
Today we reviewed area (what it is) and took the notes below. Then we practiced finding the area of a circle on the worksheet below. If it was not finished in class, it is homework due tomorrow, Thursday, 4/18.
Thursday we finished and turned in the rest of the packet given on Tuesday. We also took notes about dividing with exponents and how to simplify with a power to a power. Friday we did the attached worksheet comparing functions and turned it in.
